The Ohio College Access Network was founded by KnowledgeWorks
Foundation in collaboration with the Ohio Board of Regents
and Ohio Department of Education. With these partners and
the Ohio Business Roundtable, OCAN works to establish and
support college access programs across Ohio. As an intermediary
support organization, it brokers resources from larger systems
for use by community organizations. As a result, during this
school year, 35 college access programs are serving 173,000
students in 205 school districts across 56 counties in Ohio.
College access programs open doors to postsecondary education
by providing financial counseling, last dollar scholarships,
college visits, career guidance, tutoring, and test preparation
courses. Last year, college access communities raised $18,816,205
to provide services to Ohio's students.
