Local Scholarships for AFP International 2012 Conference – Up to two (2) $800 scholarships to the AFP International Conference are also available through the Greater Cleveland Chapter of AFP. One scholarship is the Founder’s Scholarship, which was established in honor of the chapter’s founders in 2010 (AFP International’s 50th Anniversary) and is given to someone who is active in AFP, a current member, and who has demonstrated financial need. If finances permit, the chapter also provides an additional $800 scholarship toward the AFP International Conference.
These scholarships provide $800 towards registration and travel expenses. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be members of AFP. Those who are selected must serve on an AFP committee.
For more information or to apply for either of these scholarships, please contact Robin D. Bauer, CFRE, Scholarship Chair, robinbauer1@hotmail.com.
Deadline to apply is September 15, 2011.
Membership Scholarships
AFP Cleveland is offering partial scholarship assistance to help development professionals join or renew their lapsed membership. Applicants must demonstrate that there is a need for scholarship funding and a desire to join AFP as an active member. There is an expectation that all scholarship winners will serve on a committee. Scholarship recipients can become active by serving on one of the following committees: Communication, Membership, National Philanthropy Day, Professional Development, or Resource Development.
Please submit in writing your current position in development, your fundraising experience and briefly explain why you are requesting scholarship assistance via e-mail. It is our goal to help as many people as possible. Scholarship awards are targeted to cover 50% of the costs. If your circumstances would require a different award amount, you are encouraged to apply for consideration.
There is no deadline to apply for the membership scholarships and scholarships will be awarded throughout the year as funds are available. Candidates will be notified within 45 days of application. For additional information or to apply, please e-mail Robin Bauer at robinbauer1@hotmail.com
